Common Questions
How much will it cost me?
The potential costs are extremely difficult to assess with accuracy at the outset of a case as they depend upon many factors including the attitude of the opponent and the complexity of the case which may change as new issues emerge. At AGR we provide a cost estimate at the beginning of the case and regular cost updates to enable you to budget. We always act in your best interests and will work with you in taking only that action which is reasonable and justifiable for the financial outlay you are making.
Who will represent me?
Your case will be handled by a specialist lawyer, experienced in dealing with the type of case in which you are involved. It may be necessary, dependant upon the type of case, to use counsel (a barrister) in certain circumstances. If this is necessary, the attendance of the barrister will be discussed with you.
How long will it take?
We will provide an estimate of the likely length of your case at the outset. This is subject to change as the case progresses as the issues become clearer or alter. As the case develops we will keep you up to date with any change in the likely length of the case.
Will I have to go to Court?
The court becomes involved at different stages of the legal process depending on the type of case you are bringing or defending. We will advise you at the outset of the likelihood of your case having to go to Court and keep you advised of this possibility as the case progresses. The decision to bring any proceedings in Court will not be taken without your authority.
How will you communicate with me?
We regularly deal with clients by e-mail, fax and of course by telephone and letter. If there is a particular method of communication which you prefer or which may benefit you for confidentiality or other reasons, we will try to use it if at all possible. In situations of urgency we will use the most appropriate method at our disposal in order to act in your best interests.
